| More noise artists 10/25: TAMPA, FL - Masquerade Ybor. Soriah, Power Circus, and Nutchild rounded out the list of artists who performed that night. I had to leave after Black Meat's set and I missed Soriah/Power Circus. My loss - big time as I heard that they really put on a show. So, the 2 pix of Soriah/Power Circus are from the sound check and are minus their stage costumes. I did witness Nutchild. Somewhere between self-destruction, performance art, toxic consumption, human screaming, and searing noise lies Nutchild. Covered in mud, blood, and found object trash, Nutchild made his presence felt during his set as he flailed and screamed to an intense noise soundtrack. His greatest contrast however, was when he went from eating flowers to drinking thick black mud. A statement of beauty and pain perhaps? What the audience didn't witness was the true dedication of Nutchild. This happened backstage in the green room as Nutchild vomited black mud and probably the contents of his dinner into and onto the bathroom. Nice ending!!!!!! |
